5/18/2023 0 Comments The Fisherman by John LanganI really liked the world Langan set up, and I'd be interested in seeing it explored further, by a different set of characters. Besides that, I think the book leading up to that moment was pretty creepy, and final chapter was fantastic. It didn't ruin the story for me, but the magic fight between Rainer and the Fisherman killed the creepiness of the story for me. I really enjoyed both the modern day parts of the story and the story told in the diner, However, during Lottie's story, I felt like Rainer seemed too in control of and knowledgeable about the situation unfolding in the Dort house. I just finished The Fisherman by John Langan after having it recommended to me here, and I loved it! I thought it was a great take on a Lovecraft-style story, and, unlike many other cosmic horror pieces I've read, it didn't feel horribly derivative of Lovecraft.
